I built helve because every ad tool I tried either marked up the model spend, locked the good parts behind a sales call, or quietly trained on my data. helve does none of that. You bring your own keys and pay the providers directly, and I never mark up that spend. Pro is a flat, optional fee for the publish-and-automate layer, never a tax on your usage. That's a promise, not a launch price.

Questions, answered.

Do I need a credit card?
Not to start. The pipeline is free on your own keys, and you pay the third-party API providers directly. Pro is an optional paid plan for publishing, dashboards, and automation, billed only if you upgrade.
Which LLM should I pick?
Whichever you already have a key for. Claude writes the tightest copy and supports server-side web search; GPT-4o is the most consistent at structured output; Gemini 2.0 Flash is the fastest and cheapest. Switch any time.
Does this work for non-Facebook ads?
The competitor scrape is Facebook Ad Library only right now. The briefs and creative work for any channel: Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, etc.
Where are my API keys stored?
Encrypted at rest with Fernet. Decrypted only in the worker process when running your pipeline. Never logged. Never returned to the UI in plain text.
Can I publish directly to Meta Ads Manager?
Yes, on Pro. Approved briefs push straight to a paused campaign in Ads Manager, so nothing goes live until you flip it on. On Free, generation and approval happen here and publishing stays your manual call.
What happens if a run fails halfway?
Each stage writes its output to the database before moving on, so failed runs are resumable. Provider rate-limits and one bad asset variant don't kill the whole run.
